Do you need to let go of an unhealthy relationship?
The long and winding road of letting go. The road ahead can be daunting and lonely. Some people in your life may have a hold on you and ultimately an unhealthy need for a victim buddy. Better known as co-dependency which can include many factors, one being; putting everyone else’s needs first. This can occur in all types of relationships whether it be with the people you work with, family or your friends . A red flag that you may be a victim buddy or codependent is if you are making all the sacrifices to keep a relationship alive but it is never reciprocated. ’Like begets like’ is a true statement, a short one but it carries with it a lifetime of familiar spirits, of enabling and not wanting to let go because that’s all you know.
I understand the road before you is scary, however, consider letting go ~ sometimes you have to let go in order to move forward — one step at a time—one day at a time— finally learning how to breathe on your own. I speak life over you. Look for that light around the bend where there is no more blame, no more excuses, no looking back. The road ahead is paved in true gold. Let go of their grip friend, their need to keep you a prisoner in the circumstance surrounding what is past. Co-dependency is very unpleasant —if you have questions and/or want more information regarding this issue there is a Co-Dependents Anonymous website where you will find support as well as answers to your queries.
There is hope. Healing is going forward, taking action, living and finding your inner peace. Namaste
