Upon waking this morning I was feeling thirsty. I closed my eyes and saw the faces of the children of the world so thirsty. No water in sight, at least not drinkable water. Mothers, fathers hearts breaking and so helpless. Water is fuel for our bodies. How many people are praying for it right now? We all need water for maximum health, let alone quenching an impossible thirst.
Our brains need it to function properly. Did you know that 75% of our brains are composed of water. Without it our body’s temperature goes wonky. Water also makes up most of our blood. It helps to convert our food to energy but that’s a whole other story. Children crying not understanding why they are suffering so.
Water for life — knowledge tells us we need 7 to 8 glasses of it daily.
I am thankful for water, clean quenching water. I smile as I reach for my water, I smile with gratitude when 10 minutes ago my 4 year old grandson asks for water and all I had to do was pour it and hand it to him. I watch his hand reach out to mine and I see all the faces of the children who have none and I silently cry.
My heart to all hearts. Let’s not take water for granted. Care for our fellow human being like they are our own.
Blessings to you — may you never thirst.
“I assure you that everybody who gives a cup of cold water to these little ones because they are my disciples will certainly be rewarded.” Mathew 10:42
